In severe cases of laminitis the hoof deforms into a bull nosed shape hoof. In these hooves the horn is growing away from the coffin bone. This type of growth can be recognised by an extremely wide white line in the toe section. Bull noses are more common in sinkers than in hooves with coffin bone rotation.
